Pop Culture During Cold War
1.     Explain, in your own words, the section highlighted in yellow.
2.     Describe: What does the author mean when he describes culture as an “ideological instrument?” GREEN
3.     Infer: Why does Soviet culture have “sense of mystery and danger?” Purple
4.     4. Support a claim: The text says James Bond reflected anti-communist sentiments. Blue: Search online and find two examples that support this claim.
5.     Research and explain: Use the link in the Pink reading section to describe how and why the CIA sponsored artists.


Objective: SWBAT identify causes of the Korean War and McCarthyism.
Warm up: How did the idea of containment reflect the change sense of global responsibility during the Cold War? Why did people go from isolationism to containment?  
Homework: Complete pop culture questions and finish Korean War Time Line.
